Waqaf foundations in the State has been urged to emulate Ungoggo Lafiya Waqf foundation in promoting healthcare access in their communities.
The call was made by the Executive Secretary Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA) Dr. Rahila Aliyu Mukhtar during the enrolment of 100 vulnerable persons in to the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund through the foudation.
The enrolment came as a fulfilment of the promise made by the Executive Secretary last month during the enrolment of 22 pregnant women sponsored by the foundation for their antenatal care through the vital contributory programme of the scheme for complete one year.
The foundation also engaged 3 healthcare workers on casual basis to improve healthcare access in their communities.
The Executive Secretary also promised to train the engaged health workers on the contributory healthcare scheme to improve their capacity and ease health access to the enrolees.
On his part, the district head of Ungoggo Alhaji Abdulkadir Ahmad Chedi represented by the chairman of the foundation Alhaji Shehu Abdulkadir Ahmad, appreciated the effort of the Executive Secretary KSCHMA in providing health care access especially to poor and vulnerable in the state.
At the end of the enrolment exercise, the foundation provided transport fare to the people enrolled in to BHCPF.
